Atmospheric leaching of sulphur, clay or carbon containing ores


PIONERA BioPolymers increase the metal recovery in leaching circuits. Additionally, they have proven to be very efficient in minimizing foam build up in atmospheric leaching.

A PIONERA BioPolymer is used as an additive in a copper leaching process at atmospheric pressure to minimize foam building. The ore contains pyrite and other sulphide minerals. Ultrafine ground elemental sulfur, clay, carbon and gangue material are known to cause foaming in the leach process. The addtition of Pionera L-650 at adosage of 60 g solids/m3 avoids building of foam while maintaining production.

The following SX/EW process is not negatively affected by the addition of the PIONERA BioPolymers.
